This is a really nice aluminum dog tag that was dug near Birmingham, Alabama. The front reads: Alabama Dog Tag - Male - 17874 - 1922. The reverse is embossed with the tag manufacturer, but is not fully legible. This tag measures 2 1/8" x 5/8".
